Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Teddy Purcell scored the winner in the fourth round of the shootout as the Edmonton Oilers rallied for a 5-4 win over the Washington Capitals. Edmonton scored twice late in the third period to tie the game, and Purcell gave them the win when he buried a wrister past Braden Holtby. Purcell, Derek Roy, Nikita Nikitin and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all scored in regulation for the Oilers, who have won their last two. Viktor Fasth stopped 20 shots. Alex Ovechkin scored twice for the Capitals, who have dropped three straight, Nicklas Backstrom and Jay Beagle also lit the lamp, while Holtby allowed four goals on 31 shots. Purcell brought the Oilers within 4-3 on a snap shot from the left circle that beat Holtby over his glove with 4:11 to play, and Nugent-Hopkins tied the contest with 1:07 left and Fasth on the bench for an extra attacker on a wrister from the right circle. Ovechkin scored the first two goals of the game, with the first coming on a one-timer from the top of the left circle just 1:48 in.
